Make Dreams Real

District Governor's Message

Zakaria el Shafei , District 2450 Governor

Fellow Rotarians;

 It is with Pleasure that I announce at last the decision to hold the 73rd, District Conference from May 14th to May 17th in Sahl Hashish- Hurgada on the Egyptian Red Sea Coast.

This decision is the conclusion of contemplating many alternatives but the driving arguments which led us to this decision is the attraction of a change of scenery from the traditional city conference and the relatively acceptable cost which you will notice in the attached application.

Sahl El Hashish is located 30 Kms south of the Hurghada airport and there will be more than one Hotel serving us during the conference.

For those of you living outside Egypt you will need to make your travel arrangements to Hurghada airport and we will arrange the internal transport from Hurgada to your hotel.

There will also be busses from Cairo to the hotel (5 hours drive) in case you prefer to stop in Cairo and join Egyptian Rotarians on the trip to the coast.

All our entertainment events will mostly be around the sea and on boats, so come equipped for water activities and open air events.

We invite you to register quickly as the venue hotel is booked on first come first served basis. Clearly those of you who registered at the Beirut conference will have priority and a letter will be sent to you with the balance to pay and a new registration to fill.

Our conference theme this year is “For a BETTER FUTURE” .

You are all invited to submit ideas for presentations or suggest speakers that reflect the building of the future through this unique unity of our great cultures forged with Rotary ideals and objectives.

Thanks and Regards;

 Zakaria el Shafei
